We are a digital health company dedicated to transforming how healthcare supports lifelong independence. We translate scientific research into accessible solutions that help people stay active, confident and independent. Our work combines advances in health science, behavioural research and digital technology. StandingTall is the first of many solutions we have developed to support lifelong mobility and wellbeing.

A message from our founder

Healthy ageing is one of the defining challenges of our time. While advances in medicine have helped people live longer, many still face preventable loss of mobility, confidence and independence as they age.

As a physiotherapist and researcher, my work has focused on understanding how we can prevent these declines and support people to remain active and independent throughout life. Over the years, it became clear that many effective solutions already existed in research, but too often they failed to reach the people who could benefit most.

Ylva Health was created to bridge that gap.

Our goal is to translate rigorous scientific research into practical, accessible digital health solutions that empower people to take control of their health and maintain their independence. By combining science, technology and human-centred design, we aim to build solutions that make a meaningful difference in people’s everyday lives.

StandingTall is the first step in this journey, and we look forward to developing many more innovations that support healthier ageing for individuals and communities around the world.

StandingTall is a personalised home-based exercise program designed to help older people stay independent, active, and confident. Backed by research and co-designed with older Australians, the program is easy to use and proven to improve balance and reduce the risk of falls.

Our Team

A team bringing together science, technology and real-world experience.

Professor Kim Delbaere is an internationally recognised researcher specialising in fall prevention, mobility and healthy ageing. She is Discipline Lead of Physiotherapy at the University of New South Wales and a Senior Principal Research Scientist at Neuroscience Research Australia. Kim founded Ylva Health to translate her research into evidence-based digital health solutions that help people stay active, independent and safe as they age.

Katherine Robinson serves on the Ylva Health Board, bringing deep expertise in digital product development and startup commercialisation. She is Global CEO of Miroma Project Factory (MPF), a specialist digital development studio that creates human-centred digital products and platforms. Kat has worked closely with the Ylva Health team since 2017 through MPF’s development of the StandingTall platform.

Koen Windey is a director and co-owner of Stark Engineering Consulting and serves on the Ylva Health Board. A mechanical engineer and natural problem-solver, he has a reputation for tackling almost any challenge that comes his way. Koen brings practical thinking, curiosity and a healthy dose of common sense to the board.

Andrew Finch is Chief Operating Officer at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) and serves on the Ylva Health Board. Prior to joining NeuRA, he spent 12 years at Qantas as General Counsel and Company Secretary. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at Allens Linklaters in Sydney.
